Jeju is the capital city of the province of Jeju and is also the largest city in Jeju Island. Conveniently located on the island off the Korean Peninsula, Jeju is famous for being an entertainment hub, with numerous resorts, hotels, and casinos. Jeju city is one of the fastest growing cities and is currently one of the most sought after tourist destinations.
Jeju city is home to the fantastic Sinsan Park, which is famous for its exhibitions of the marine animals that have been displayed within the Jeju Folklore and also in the Natural History Museum. This area is one spot most tourists like to visit while in Jeju.
In the Nexon Computer Museum, visitors flock to partake of the beautiful displays of the ancient prototypes and classic games. Close by is the Jeju Museum of Art, which is home to the works of Chang Ree-suok, a notable twentieth-century Korean artist, whose work still attracts viewers from all over the world.
Numerous sculptures depicting the adult themes are displayed in the grounds and galleries of the Jeju Love Land. Tourists find the intriguing and educative as well as seductive and very attractive. More of the crafts and artwork is located in the Jeju Horse Park, where visitors are at liberty to enjoy the riding activities before proceeding to the museum within the park to learn more on the equestrian culture of the island of Jeju.
Another attraction spot in Jeju is the Confucian School of Jejuhyannggyo which is the official home of the ancestral tablets. The school is also renowned for its calligraphy classes.
For outdoor fun, visiting the Hallim Park is memorable, with the numerous indigenous botanical trees like the bonsai trees that are beautiful to walk, and rest in. The view of the peacocks within the garden is stunning and is one reason that tourists are attracted to the site. Lotus ponds are also found within the park for the public to enjoy viewing. In the Hallasan National Park, in the middle of the island, there is a beautiful view of the Mount Yeongjusan surrounded by volcanoes.
For luxurious relaxation, the coastal Yongduam Haesu Spa Land provides with amazing sea water saunas and spas, located conveniently on the coast for diving in between the sauna sessions. Close by, the Yongduam Rock with its dragon shape attracts numerous divers who take to fish out seafood using crude and traditional methods
To the South of Jeju city, there is the iconic Jeju Nanta Theatre, where various shows of drama, music, and acrobatics are aired.

When to visit Jeju

Jeju City experiences a humid subtropical climate. Summers are hot with the temperature occasionally going up as high as 30°C (86°F), although in most cases it never goes higher than that. The sunshine hours are moderately tolerable although they are always more than seven per day.
During winter, from December to February, the days are chilly as the temperature drops to as low as 3°C (37.4°F). Snow is not uncommon even though it does not accumulate for long on the ground.
In March Jeju holds its Jeju Fire Festival, celebrated with lit torch marches in the city, beautiful fireworks and numerous concerts. In August, the famous Jeju International Wind Ensemble Festival happens across the city in various venues. Several flower festivals are held in Jeju, like the April Cherry blossoms festival and the fall lilies and lotuses’ festival, as well as the November chrysanthemums festival.
